Is THC a bronchodiolator and is 1 joint=to 1 pack of cigs?!

Question: Is THC a bronchodiolator and is 1 joint=to 1 pack of cigs?
You stupid anti weed people say "oh 1 joint is equal to 1 pack of cigs" and some of them say "equal to 7 cigs" and its always a different number. And joints are all different sizes, I could roll a small .1 gram joint and your telling me its as bad as 20 ciggarettes? how stupid. I also heard weed was a bronchodiolator or something and the tar doesn't stick to your lungs as much? is this true?

First yes, THC is a bronchodiolator. It was tested in the 1970's comparing it to the common asthmatic use drug of isoprenaline. It was found to longer duration (about 3 hours more) but also a longer onset (about 15 minutes longer). It is also known to stop bronchospasms.

As far as comparing it to a cigarette it is something that many people light on fire and inhale into their lungs. The simple fact it is light on fire and inhaled makes it bad for you. Not that it is marijuana but rather the extreme temperature that is used. Also it generally is not filtered. So one medium joint gives you about the same damage as 5 filtered cigarettes. This is one of the major selling point of a vaporizer.

Sweetie ... I was a hippie when I was young. I am not anti-weed. But don't kid yourself about how destructive it is to your lungs. They aren't lying.

I have some friends who still smoke it like they did in the late 1960's ... when they can get away from their oxygen tanks long enough.
