I know whiskey and rum are perfectly fine in decanters...but what about tequila?

As a general rule, all alcohol will keep well if you limit it's contact air and heat.

So if the decanter is kept closed and is not kept over a going fireplace, you'll be OK.

I keep all of my alcohol in a refrigerator.
My wife says that's overkill. She's right, but i won't admit it to her. ;)

They're not perfectly fine at all.

All spirits become muted and dull over time. Light and oxygen are bad news.

Keep your spirits in a cool, dry, dark place at all times if you want to keep them going long & strong.

I guess if you turn them over quickly enough you could use a decanter, but from the second you pour it in there, 'til the second it's finished, it's deteriorating. You might not notice until it's been there a month, but it'll happen.

Yes.
