Hi jordan ,there are several products throughout the world, I think are pretty close to Guinness ,you can`t lose sight of the fact that as early as the 16th century ,the brewers were making a product called MEAD ,it was the best they could come up with ,in that era ..it is sold today but it usually has honey added to develop the taste.. however in cold climates small industries make a stout that they heat up ,so as it is a hot toddy ,it is a hardy drink that has an alcoholic kick , that leaves you with a heavy head the next day...here in Australia we have a particular brand called COOPERS ,and it in my opinion is the equal ,if not better ,than the Guinness, some boutique breweries attempt a type of their own design , butt vary the wording ie." porter-gaff" ( served with a dash of lemonade ) by doing this they dodge copy right laws ,but its still stout , another popular winter drink is called Dad and Mum " heated stout with a spoon full of a meat extract ,and a dash of rum...the list goes on but overall the man Component is Stout.....great drink

Yeah, there are lots of different kind of stout beers -- The famous one being Guinness, of course. I've tasted one called Pilsner, I don't remember the full name though. It was gross :).

Murphy's and Beamish
