The problem is Canada did not count the accidents from drinking and driving separate until 2005. it is estimated all over the place with most counting about 1000 accidents a year less then 10% being fatal. So less then 100 is the general consensus. It is about 2-4 times as high as the US, where we not only count drinking and driving accidents we count it if a drunk walks out of a bar adn into traffic as a drinking and driving accident.

In the US it accounts for less then 8% of all accidents.
