Not particularly but it will grow mold. The most common is aspergillus, which simply will make you sick when you smoke. Worse is stachybotrys, although rare, it can kill you. And if you store it in a air tight container (like a jar), it can grow clostridium botulinum, some of which is also deadly.

It will also absorb moisture over time. This is a natural occurrence of the plant. This make sit more difficult to burn. And a very good environment to grow molds. As for it degrading the THC will degrade into canabitol, which is what you want anyway. It does normally anyway.

Yes with time it will lose potency, as it dries out the trichomes that provide the "high" turn to dust, I'm sure you noticed the hairs and dust if you use a grinder? Those are the trichomes or "keef" The moldy aspect doesn't happen the way you think, when it gets moldy it smells like ammonia or cat pee, what it is, is whoever grew it either chopped it up too early or didn't cure it properly and rushed the curing to sell it which typically makes it bad. Good stuff when you buy it, won't mold unless you get it wet, and will only dry out and lose potency over time.

The best way to make it last longer if you have a large supply, is to put it in bags (make sure to remove ALL the air) and put it in the freezer. You will need to defrost it before smoking, but defrosting takes barely a minute or two just sitting on a table. My brother used to sell it, and that's what he used to do with his supply before selling. The last thing it will do is get MORE potent, that's just not true.

make sure all the air is out, it won't get more potent, moldy, or lose effectiveness, it will most likely just dry out some so when you do finally smoke it, it'll burn a lot faster.

ive had some for a month and it got dry and hard, but it still worked nonetheless. I'm not sure if it loses potency but I know it can get moldy if where you keep it is humid.

im a smart bastard

yeah its true I forgot a bag of weed in one of my jackets for almost a year . . .it was ultra dry crumbled like dust it was WROTHLESS

It'll dry out and lose its potentcy/ taste weak.
Who keeps there pot for 6 months to a year?

no... buht why would you keep it for that long of a period anyways?
