Does taste of beer matter by brand?!

Question: Does taste of beer matter by brand?
I have had two different beer brands and they both tasted good, but they had a real bad after taste. Do different brands have different taste?

The brand of beer is merely the designation of the company that made it. What differentiates beers is the style. An American IPA is a very different beer than a Russian Imperial Stout, even if they are made by the same company. Conversely there will be slight differences between two Baltic Porters made by different companies but you'll be able to tell that they are in fact the same style of beer.
