is it better to use a 1-liter or 2-liter plastic bottle?
and, for the stem.. how would I go about removing the ink part of the pen.. to make it a functioning plastic tube?

Use a 600ml gatorade(Is best) or coke bottle and for the stem use garden hose. But just keep in mind it is not very healthy to smoke through plastic, you would be better off just buying a glassie.
