They last a loooong time...even longer in the freezer. They will taste bad though.
If they're sealed up, they last a surprisingly long time. I've found unopened packs that were a year old, and I couldn't really tell the difference.
On the other hand, once they're opened up, they do start to dry out within a few days. After a week or so, you can still smoke them, but you'll notice that they burn a lot faster, and they don't taste nearly as good. Surprisingly, they don't get much worse after a few months.
So the moral of the story is that if you're going to smoke, you may as well plan on smoking at least a pack a week. That's only about three a day, so it's a reasonable amount for even a "light" smoker. Or if you're going to smoke less than that, share with your friends.
If the pack gets older than that, save them in case you run out, but do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a fresh pack.
if past 1 month, DO NOT SMOKE THEM!!!
also, stop asking dumb questions like this. Buy a new pack, or stop not smoking so much. Your obviously not a cool person if you are not smoking at least a pack a day. sack up.
Can last for years. But the tobacco become bad after half year, and it's not good for smoking.
personal experience
If opened, probably a week until they go bad. If unopened, they should last years.
