Is there a difference in 40% whiskeys?!

Question: Is there a difference in 40% whiskeys?
Here are examples of what I am talking about: Jack Daniels, Bourbon, Irish Whiskey, and Scotch. If they are all 40% alcohol volume, can there be a difference in the rate they get you drunk/the overall level of drunkness? My friend works at a physical therapy clinic and they told him one day during conversation that Irish and Scotch will get you drunk easier than other whiskeys. Is this true, and if it is can you explain why this might be. Serious answers only please.

Answers:

40% is 40%, no matter what the name brand of the drink is. The % is all that matters if you're trying to get drunk quick.

math

I prefer Whisky over Tequila because the Tequila takes me a while to kick in and I end up drinking a whole bottle and then I realize I can't control myself anymore. All Whiskys get you buzzed quick I don't feel a difference but that's just me.

Lesser quality ones tend to give worse hangovers.
