NO
It means you are a binge drinker
Typically if you have to wonder this intently about your drinking you should at least consider talking to a professional or going to a couple of AA meetings and talking to some people there. One of the defining characteristics of alcoholism is that you cannot stop, and the fact that you are trying to control your drinking and are unsuccessful indicates a problem with drinking. The thing about alcoholism is that most good professionals will not tell you that you are an alcoholic, it is something that you have to discover yourself. That is why AA is anonymous because they don't want to force people into the program. I do think that you have some dangerous habits that you need to get some help for. Good luck!
No you are not an alcoholic. Essentially there are people who drink nothing, a little or a lot. I would categorise 1 glass of wine (for example) as a waste of the rest of the bottle. I don't believe there is a real 'disease' of alcoholism - just those who are susceptible to the propaganda that Governments spin so that we are easier to control when not at home. Please remember...all government guidelines on alcohol consumption as guesses at best - ignore them, we only live once and we are supposed to enjoy it right? Don't count your glasses, count the money in your pocket that allows you to buy those glasses
This is pretty common as one of the affects of alcohol is you loose self control hence you carry on drinking even though you didn't intend to. I don't think it automatically means you are an alcoholic.
You are an alcoholic if: you call into work sick because of a hangover, you hide your alcohol e.g. pretend to drink coffee in a mug.
your near.. be careful..
try not drinking at all, nothing. see what happens
