Can you use regular syrup instead of karo syrup for peanut butter corn flake bars?!

The thing is that Karo syrup is sweet without imparting a flavor. Regular syrup will leave a maple flavor to your bars and I do not know if you want that kind of taste. Now, there is nothing wrong with peanut butter and maple syrup; I sometimes have a sandwich like that.
