Chateau Lafite-Rothchild Wine bottle?!

Question: Chateau Lafite-Rothchild Wine bottle?
Calling all wine lovers! Some time ago I was privileged to share in a 1980 bottle of this wine. Someone said the bottle was valuable or would be and gave me the empty. Since then, I've moved twice and kept this empty bottle. I'm tired of dusting it! Were they pulling my leg or have my dusting efforts been worth it? Please share your knowledge. Thanks

Answers:

I have an empty bottle that's from the 30s that's worth a teeny bit, but your bottle really isn't, unless that artist (it switches every year) was really famous. Off the top of my head, I don't know who did the bottle art on the 1980.

EDIT: No, Pauillac is the region in Bordeaux where Lafite is located. However, my above info is wrong. I was confusing Lafite with Mouton (mine is Mouton). Lafite uses the same bottle art each year. Your bottle is not worth anything other than fond memories.

I'm a sommelier.
