What has the Australian government done to try and combat problem drinking?!

Question: What has the Australian government done to try and combat problem drinking?
Basically anything they have done, or tried to do in attempt to stop problem drinking whether it failed or not, I want to know about it thanks.

Answers:

One thing they did do - a few years ago now - was to get rid of the "6 o'clock swill" which restricted drinking to a one-hour period in the early evening. That lead to quit unbelievable levels of drunkenness during the major part of the 20th century, not being repealed in Queensland until 1966.

History is littered with Government attempts to deal with (presumed and usually inaccurate) alcohol problems by regulation; so far as I know all have failed.
