What do I do with an opened bottle of wine?!

Question: What do I do with an opened bottle of wine?
I opened a bottle of wine (pinot noir, I got it as a gift a few years back) to use some in a soup, but now I have almost an entire bottle of wine left, and I don't drink!!! Can I store an opened bottle? how long will it be good for? What else can I do with it, other than make more soup?

Answers:

There are lots of recipes that use wine. Coq au vin. Beef casseroles will be nice and rich with it added. Or just add it to things and see how it works out.

Freeze the leftover wine in an ice-cube tray, once frozen, empty frozen wine cubes into a ziplock bag - use as needed in cooking.

Add red wine to any tomato based sauces i.e. marinara, bolognese sauce, spaghetti sauce, lasagna sauce, tomato soup

Add a splash of red wine to any recipe that uses cooked beef: beef stew, beef bourgignon, beef borscht

Use it as a marinade for beef / lamb

Make a salad dressing -
Try making a typical oil and vinegar dressing, and just substitute red wine for the balsamic vinegar

If the bottle has been open for no more than one or two days, the wine is still perfect for poaching fruit - poach pears & serve with a dollop of cream

Use the red wine to marinate strawberries. Rinse and quarter fresh, ripe strawberries and place them in a glass bowl. Sprinkle a dusting of sugar on top, and pour the wine over the berries. Refrigerate for several hours before serving

Drink it silly! hahaha you can also use it for a fruit fly trap! ad some soapy water put it in a dish and vwulah!

It will store for a long time even after opened. Keep it chilled and offer some to any visitor.

I'm pretty sure there is a recipe for wine soaked chicken with onions but I'm not sure how to make it.

there is a way of making vinegar out of it. Try googling. I only heard of it.
