Question: What is saint patrics day about and why do people drink alchol?
Answers:

St. Patrick's Day is an Irish holiday. It is a Catholic religious holiday to celebrate the life of St. Patrick. There is a link at the bottom that will tell you the story of St. Patrick if you are interested. And not all people drink alcohol on St. Pat's day. A lot of people just use it as an excuse to over drink and party. Drinking is not mandatory to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. It is said that everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day!

well i dont really know the reasoning behind it but there is so much drinking because originally it was a catholic holiday, and many people gave booze up for lent, but since this holiday was during the lent period people could drink and used it as an excuse to take a break

Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. So, it was traditionally a religious day. In the 18th Century, the Irish in America started parades, and it has just turned into a big party. And why not!

St Patrick is irish and the irish are drunks. :)
