Question about Tequila Slammers?!

Question: Question about Tequila Slammers?
So I know the proper form of a tequila slammer is when you fill a glass, half with tequila, half with lemonade (or soda, whatever) and then leave some room and slam it on the table so it's fizzy then you drink it.

so why is it that everyone thinks it's when you have the salt, take the shot then the lime!? what is that 'shot' actually called.
if i ask for a tequila slammer at a club or bar will they serve me the proper version?

thank you.

Answers:

People confunse tequila slammers with tequila shooters all the time. The best you can do is make sure the bartender knows what he's doing.

Here's a website on different ways to drink tequila. It doesn't include slammers, but it describes every other way I've heard of: http://www.tequilaknight.com/drinking-te…

That shot is called a tequila slammer as-well because it is really popular at clubs. Its rare on friday and saturday nights that everyone would want to have it the original way

it will depend on the club or bar you go to, some will serve the proper way and some will serve the other way

I'll take that as a comment
