The Festival of the Hare is known in Italy as Sagra Della Lepre. It is a food festival held through out Italy at different times of the year. e.g. Summer in Umbria, Fall in Tuscany, Winter near Pisa.
The Festival of the Hare started in Tuscany in the late 1980's. It's more of a farmers market and festival for promoting local foods and wines.
At Selvatelle near Pisa. Cooks prepare potted hare, roasted hare, and pappardelle with hare sauce. For those who don't like hare, there are grilled steaks and roast pork.
