Answers: The most expensive brandy on the planet is Hennessy Ellipse. Available exclusively at Harrods, it is made from seven eaux-de-vies dating from 1800 and comes in a bespoke decanter by Thomas Bastide, the creator/designer for Cristalleries Baccarate.
There is your answer in the Telegraph newspaper today...Obviously I am not rich enough to have tasted it. It's all a question of budget.
My favorite armagnac is "Chateau de Laubade" - depending on the year, you'll pay between 50 € and 250 € in France for a bottle.
My favourite Cognac is a "Hine" - and costs anywhere between 30€ and 150€
Of course, there are better ones, but you need to pay through the nose for them.
Some Spanish Brandy is nice too. I could recommend "Carlos Primero (Carlos I)" and you could expect to pay about 20 or 30€ a botte over there.
The best thing to do is try different brands at different prices until you find one that suits you !
