If a pub landlords private flat, ie his living quarters, is behind the bar,?!

Question:

If a pub landlords private flat, ie his living quarters, is behind the bar,?

Can he invite his customers there for a smoke, and would it be a way round the law,!!

Answers: A way around the law? It is not only his place of business , it's his home , and I would think , he has a right to entertain guests if he pleases. I imagine so - as long as it's out of hours, it's his/her recreational time at home which happens to be a pub! not if they are paying customers. I would think it would be hard to police thoough. Would you really want customers in your house? The onus would be on you to prove they are not paying customers, just as you would have to do the same if you had friends in for a drink after hours. He could invite them, but not as customers...... only as his private guests.
