Like what do you have to do or show before they let you be the bartender
Answers: Most places will hire you if you have a bartenders certificate from a lichened school. Check it out by typing bartender school in the Internet and find the one closes it to your house. There may be few places still around will give you a test to see if you can make all the drinks on their menu.
There are books in library or for sale at a good local book store on how to become a bartender. Good Luck. well no matter where you go the minimun requirement is that you are at least 21 years some place require you have attended some type of bar tending school some will allow you to learn as you go. it really depends on the establishment. you need to have gone to school for it...you need to be fast and very talkative........need to bring your own style to the atmosphere... Get your license and stay sober!! you have to be able to "tend" a "bar" I ran a bar for several years. First, get a job in a bar where they don't require you to graduate from bartending school. You might not like the job once you are in it so why waste the money on school, plus you will learn everything you need to know on the job. To be a good bartender you MUST have a good memory, outgoing personality, patience (you will be surrounded by rude drunk people), and be fast on your feet. Never lead a customer on to get more tips (you are there to work at the bar - not work THE bar), never serve a customer that is obviously drunk because you and the bar can be sued if they get in an accident, and if they do get too drunk and want to leave try to get them a ride home. Those are the things that make a good bartender. You have to be over 21 to serve alcohol (I think that is the case with most states)
