What are the differences between lagers, ales, port, etc?!

Question:

What are the differences between lagers, ales, port, etc?

What are the kinds of beer and what are the differences. I like beer, but I still don't know much about it.

Answers: Lagers(most U.S. beers including pilsners, lagers, dark and lite) use lager yeast... ferment at cool temperatures. ...clearer, lighter in body and color... lower in alcohol(3.2-4.0%)
Ales(including porters, ales, browns, & stouts) use ale yeast... ferment at warmer temperatures, then age for a short time... less carbonated, fuller bodied higher alcohol content than lagers. larger? It is all about how it is brewed, distilled, etc. light beer is usually made with less hops and more watered down. lager is a dark beer usually brewed with barley. port i dont know about. ice beer is made stronger than regular beer. wheat beer is obviously made with wheat instead of hops or barley ale is top-fermenting yeast, at warmer temperatures over a short period of time, while lager is bottom-fermenting yeast, at cooler temperatures over a longer period of time. "lager" is the german term for "storing".
