fresh air in the bar! wots it like being a smoker standing in the rain???.....XX
Answers: STANDING IN THE RAIN IS FINE, GIVES US A BREAK FROM THE STINK OF YOUR BODY ODOUR Wimp. Try standing out in a blizzard at sub zero (Celsius) temperature with your behind hanging out the back of a hospital gown! No idea since we converted the garage into a bar. Smokers and non smokers welcome. No one treating another any different because they do or don't smoke. Just mates getting together to chew the fat and have a laugh. Remember that... that's what a pub used to be for! I am a non smoker and I went out in the pub for the first time since it has been non-smoking.
When I first arrived the weather was quite nice and evryone was sat outside, later it really started to pour it diwn and as the group and I left, all the cmokers were snuggled up under the small roof moaning about it being ridiculous, saying if they want to kill themselves it should be there choice, etc. they seemed to be totally unaware of the harms of passive smoking,
I even over heard someone moaning they woulf die of a clod at this rate - think about it... or you could just die of lung cancer!!!! In my hometown in Northern Ohio, they are ignoring the smoking ban at most all of the bars. No smoking will kill the bar business. Personally it does not bother me, because I need to stop smoking anyways. It does nothing for you other than shorten your life. I think the ban is ridiculous though, somewhat. I have non-smoking friends and they say that when they go to a bar, they expect to be around smoking. If they did not want to be around smokers, they would go to a non smoking bar, or just stay home and drink. Only adults should be at bars anyways, and adults can make there own decisions on what bars / if any to go to. I am all for the ban in any public place in which children attend. You should not be able to smoke in a restaurant or grocery store, etc. A bar is for adults, and should be handled as such. Sorry if you do not agree. This is just my opinion. Give it 12 months.... pub will be a block of flats Oh wrap up and you won't get wet. well, i wouldnt know as i havent been in the rain and smoked yet but i will defo tell you lol, its such a bummer, stupid law, they bring this law but they dont bloody stop selling them. oh well life goes on and us smokers will get over it in the end :D Wonder if it's illegal to smoke in a bus shelter. we don't have to worry about standing in the rain, we have to worry about standing in 100 plus degree weather over here in Phoenix I am enjoying the smoke free places. Come on smokers you will get use to it Must admit I gave up 10 months ago - for the sake of my Grandchildren. It is nice to go in a pub - I enjoy a drink or two - that has a fresh air smell about it. No disrespect to the smokers but I am wondering what the Chancellor will do if sales of ciggies decline - stick an extra few bob on a pint/short/or glass of wine - and if he doesnt the Landlord will to cover the cost of outside shelters/Patio heaters etc..
Governments never lose - we just have our rights eroded.
