According to urban legend, Twinkies have a shelf life of many years. While some urban myth websites have concluded this is false,[1] the photograph shows Twinkies which have been kept since 1998 with no signs of deterioration. In one small classroom experiment at George Stevens Academy, a single Twinkie, removed from all packaging, did not spoil for 30 years, although it became "rather brittle".[5] Another urban myth is that the cream inside of the twinkies ferments into an alcoholic beverage after eight years. This was also shown on the FOX TV show, The Simpsons. Also, on the FOX show Family Guy, after a nuclear holocaust, the only thing that survived was a twinkie factory.

according 2 wikipedia.com I can imagine this being correct because all sorts of funky things happen to substances that have been "aged" so to speak.

However, even if this was true, why would you want to "drink" a decomposed Twinky? I think a shot of tequila or two will do the trick. i've heard this about cheetoos Eww twinkies are deadly, don't eat them...ever. Pretty sure that cannot be possible~would YOU drink that??
It may eventually break down with mold and such in it, then you would have to scrape that off and there might be some sort of liquidy substance...might be a good science experiment if you could find the guinea pig that would drink whatever was left of it..or scrape up and eat whatever was left of it. LOL I would think, after 8 years, it would become a little mound of green dust. Twinkies, taxes, and cockroaches are forever. there is too much sugar so it would kill off any type of yeast also I think bacteria would eat it up first
