Anyone know this margarita recipe?!
Anyone know this margarita recipe?
I used to have a recipe for the best margaritas, but I've lost it and I can't remember the exact proportions. I know it's 8 parts tequila, 6 parts either apple juice or lime juice, 3 parts triple sec and 3 parts either apple juice or lime juice, but I can't remember if the 6 parts is lime or apple. Would anyone know? It makes more sense if it were lime, but I'd like confirmation before I waste all that tequila..... :)

It does seem heavy on the tequila... maybe it was 8 parts lime and 6 parts tequila.... I just can't remember! :(

It does seem heavy on the tequila... maybe it was 8 parts lime and 6 parts tequila.... I just can't remember! :( The best margarita recipe I got was:
Fill the blender halfway with ice.
1 Can of Frozen lime juice.
Fill the can with tequila and pour it in.
An extra splash of tequila for good luck.
A splash of Triple Sec.
Sugar to taste.
My friend's mom is from Mexico, and she taught it to me. I figured it was authentic! Margaritas are made with lime, not apple. Your recipe is awfully heavy on the alcohol. Sorry but I have never had an apple flavored Margarita. Here is one that is good though:
Standard Margarita recipe
1 ounce 1800 Tequila
1/2 ounce Cointreau
1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
sweet/sour mix, to fill
salt for glass rim A blend of tequila, lime, simple syrup, and an additional liqueur (often Triple Sec or Grand Marnier), margaritas may vary depending on the recipe, but whatever the blend, their quality depends largely on the quality of the ingredients used.
Curacao, a liqueur flavored with the dried peel of bitter oranges, is what makes the fabulous blue margarita so blue. In keeping with the drinka??s wonderfully flamboyant tone, serve blue margaritas in extravagantly large glasses.
Margaritas can be made in a blender or served on the rocks, according to taste. Use a citrus reamer, a small, fluted cylindrical wooden tool, to extract every last drop of lime juice.
Ingredients
Serves 6
1 lime, cut into 6 wedges
Coarse salt
Ice cubes
1 3/4 cups tequila
1/4 cup Cointreau
1/4 cup Grand Marnier
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
2 to 4 tablespoons Lime Simple Syrup
Directions
To salt-rim the glasses, rub a cut lime around the rim of each glass. Fill a saucer with salt, and dip each glass, upside down, into the salt. Set aside.
Fill a blender jar three-quarters full of ice cubes. Pour tequila, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, lime juice, and simple syrup over the ice. Begin blending on low, then increase the speed to high, until the ice is very finely chopped and the mixture is frothy. Taste for sweetness, adding more simple syrup if necessary. Blend a few seconds more, and pour into the salt-rimmed glasses. Serve immediately. id just buy the store bought kind with the alchol already included!
