VODKA WATERMELoN?!

Question:

VODKA WATERMELoN?

I want to make a watermelon saturated with vodka this Sunday. Has anyone tried it with any other alcohol like rum? Which do you like better? Is it true that it matters if the watermelon is seedless or not? If I need it for Sunday when should I prepare it. Saturday or is Sunday enought time for the liquid to obsorb? Thank you!

Answers: We used to do this YEARS ago. Use vodka, anything else is too overpowering.
The afternoon before, cut a plug hole in the end of the melon, just slightly larger than the neck of your bottle. SLIGHTLY, not much.
Set the melon in the sink with the hole over the drain so the juice runs out, OR in something else if you want the watermelon juice.
Allow to drain AT LEAST 3-4 hours.
Insert the bottle into the hole and turn it up. Leave overnight.
It doesn't make a difference if it's got seeds. They didn't have seedless melons when we did this.
Have fun but remember to have a dd........... didnt know they had that Bacardi or Capt Morgan Parrot Bay is better (personally). I use a seedless watermellon and start it the day before. Cut a triangle plug out of it use the booze of your choice you can use gin too and prepare it the day before for the best results. Usually it is made a few days ahead of time like 2 days, but I think if you do it the night before it will be ok too. We usually use vodka, but I am sure if you would use rum it would be ok. DON'T USE RUM! IT'S HORRIBLE the vodka will work. rum is used cause it is spiced and taste better but it is your melon do as u wish.I would give a day at least for the vodka to soak through and if u are in a hurry try watermelon flavored jello shooters. the seeds are only a choking hazard as far as i know but I am not sure BUD LITE all the way I'D START IT ON FRIDAY.

I DON'T THINK IT MATTERS WHETHER IT'S SEEDLESS OR NOT -- JUST DON'T EXPECT TO GROW ANY LIKE THAT. :-)

NAME YOUR POISON, BUT GIN IS ALSO NEUTRAL ENOUH TO USE.
