I accidentally filled my Zippo with Charcoal lighter fluid...whats the worst that can happen?!

I accidentally filled my Zippo with Charcoal lighter fluid...whats the worst that can happen?

And it smells everytime i use it. What should I do?

No I don't actually use it for smoking. I don't smoke. I just have it...to light things on fire. Like fireworks...


Answers:

As butance the normal fuel for lighter is quite highly prone to evaporate, take it apart, if it is one with the screw base jut let it sit open over night to evaporate the lighter fluid, it is Kerosine, and is a bit more flammable than butane.

The cotton in the lighter that soaks up the fluid is very easy to dry out, it may smell a bit strong for while as the petrolum base will need time to get out of the cotton.
