If you heavily drink the night before you are going to give blood, can that affect your blood and won't let you donate it?

I'm not going to drink and give blood people! I'm not stupid, I just wanted to know how alcohol affected blood so I would know that I can't drink when I have an appt to give blood. Thanks.


Answers:

Alcohol thins your blood, so if you're going to binge, don't donate the next day. The people who need your blood need it to be healthy. Thinned blood can be very dangerous for accident victims because it doesn't clot as quickly as regular blood.
