Basically you have to judge alchohal on the percent.
Everclear is 95%. It may be illegal where you live. 1-2 shots of that, you'll be good for the night.
Absinth 90% is Illegal in North America. You can buy the 70% one though. 2-3 shots of this will get you good for the night.
Same goes for Bacardi 151 Rum.
After that, theres pretty much nothing until you hit the 40%'s. Which include vodka, scotch, rum, tequila .......... Splitting a 2'6 of this between 2-3 friends is a great idea. It'll get you pretty tispy, and its cost-effective that way. Or just get a mickey for yourself.
What I usually have is grey goose orange vodka, and cranberry juice as a chaser. 1/4 of thr plastic cup filled with vodka, 3/4 with the juice. After 4 of these im pretty tipsy.
If you want just good tasting drinks. Try hypnotiq, or alizer. They're about 17%-20%, and pretty much taste like juice. They're pretty expensive though.
Beer is always a great way to go too.
Try not to drink your hard liquor straight though. It burns hardcore on the way down, and will kick in a lot faster. I once had half a 2'6 of tequila in 10 minutes straight. I was fine for 15 minutes, then I couldnt walk in straight line, couldnt sit in chair without falling off, kept blacking out.
