Can rum be clear?!

Can rum be clear?

i thought rum was brown but i drank something clear and later someone told me it was rum.

well the reason this exists is for people to ask questions so an iq test wouldn't help with that. i'm not stupid i just didn't know that.

and i'm not "not much of a drinker" i just drink what is put in front of me.

All distilled liquor is clear to start with. Color comes either from aging in barrels (like whiskey) or from additives. So pure rum is always clear. Dark rum has molasses added back into it.

There is white/clear and brown. Depends on how it is aged and in what. and how it is purified

Dime western is right. All alcohol is clear. Color is obtain by different means. In the case of rum, they add mollasses like my friend said.And in the age rums, they used burn oak barrels that impart natural sugars, color and bouquet to the rum.
