Question:

What is the best bottle of wine you have found for <$15?

Answers:
Protocolo 2004. 100% Tempranillo, a type of grape. From Spain. 5.99 at my local store, because he buys at least 10 cases at a time. A wine reviewer says, "I have tasted 6,000 wines a year that are not as good as this." It is amazing that such a delicious wine can be had for this ridiculous price.

If you're looking for a red there is a Cabernet from Napa called Michael Pozzan, Cuvee' #9. It may be tough to track down, but you can order it off the web. Very easy drinking, medium to full bodied, ripe fruit with mild tannins. Enjoy!! Also, if you like dry, white wine, try Pike's Dry Riesling from Clare Valley, Australia. You will not believe that you are drinking Riesling!! Dry, crisp, clean and bright!

San Telmo (Argentinian Malbeq) for about $6.

shiraz, yellow tail or cab blend. slightly fruity but solid body.

Kirkland Signature 2002 Barossa Valley Shiraz from Costco.

Excellent wine comparable to anything at double the price. Good luck in finding a bottle however.

And to the person that said Yellow Tail, you ought to be taken out and shot right now. That stuff is vile and bottled for the American market only. Nobody in their right mind in Australia would buy that stuff. It's kinda like Foster's beer in that regards.

Zinfandel Cuvee from Rosenblum...only cost around $8. Great best buy wine.

Zinfandel from Sobon....they have several choices under $15 that are good.

Hawks Crest Stags Leap Cab - around $15 (a good value)

Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc - great tasting refreshing on a summer day

Robert Mondovi
