Can jello shots be made ahead of time?!

Question:

Can jello shots be made ahead of time?

I want to make my jello shots on Wednesday night for a Saturday night party. Do you think that would be too far in advance? Will they get nasty?

Answers:
Yes, they will be chewy and undesirable by then. Serve within 24 hours of making them for best results.

EDIT: They do NOT get stronger, as they sit longer, and they WILL taste much worse after a week than they will if you serve them as soon as they "set." (become gelatinous)

I'm a bartender, not some buffoon who has made jello shots once or twice and decided that they were "good."

Yes they can I made a lot of them on a monday before my wedding on a Saturday. The only thing is the longer they sit in the fridge the stronger they become. They were not nasty at all.

No they will be fine, just wrap them well in saran wrap and keep them refrigerated.

I agree with leventhirtyeight. 24 hours in advance is ideal. I have made them 48 hrs in advance, with no great loss in their flavor or texture. Any further in advance and the jello will have an " off " texture. They do not get stronger. I have made 100's of them for various dances.
