Question on wine taste?
I have heard people describe wine as "earthy", "fruity", "hints of......". But when I taste it, it just taste's like wine. I mean I couldn't tell the difference between a fine Pinot Noir, and a bottle of MD 20/20. So does everyone detect these flavors?

That is how most people start out. But the more you drink, the more you will pick up on those things. Something that really helps is to try different wines at the same time, so you can compare them. Try having a wine tasting party, where everyone brings a different bottle to taste. Listening to others talk about what they smell/taste in a wine while you are drinking it, will help you understand some of those descriptions.
