Summer cocktail recipes please?!

Question:

Summer cocktail recipes please?

I was watching Oprah yesterday, and she talked about the Tangerita, this new summer cocktail she invented (fresh squeezed tangerines, tequila, and triple sec). It got me thinking... what are some other great cocktails for summer, and how do you make them?

I'd love to throw a cocktail party this summer; but I'm fairly new to playing bartender. Any ideas will be a big help; thanks!

Good luck, enjoy & I hope I helped!
Be creative and have fun!

This is nothing fancy, but I like cold diet 7-up and flavored vodka (Absolut Pear is AMAZING, and I'm dying to try the new Stoli Blueberry) - it's easy, yummy, and refreshing.

Good Summer Cocktails.

The Gin & Tonic: always a refreshing summer classic. Use good quality gin (Beefeater or Bombay), and fresh limes, and it's hit.

A favorite for me and my friends is the Dark and Stormy.
Ingredients:
Black Rum (Gosling's Black Seal or Myer's)
Ginger Beer (Goya or Stewarts)
Limes
Ice

Fill a glass with ice
Pour in a couple shots of rum
Squeeze Half a lime over it
Fill the glass with ginger beer
Stir and enjoy.

These can also be made by the pitcher.

I don't have a name for it but we love fizzy lemonade (pellegrino limonata works really well) with gin. If we want to get really fancy, we splash a little blue curacao in it.

mmmmm.

any coctails with citrus in them are most refreshing for summer i guess

Long Island Iced Tea

3/4 oz tequila
3/4 oz rum
3/4 oz gin
3/4 oz vodka
3/4 oz triple sec
3/4 oz sour mix
splash cola

Mojito Classic

1 1/2 oz Cuban light rum
handful fresh mint sprigs
dash gomme syrup
1/2 lime
soda water

Pina Colada

2 oz light rum
3 oz pineapple juice
2 oz Coco Lopez coconut cream
ice

Mexican Paloma: Tequila with grapefruit (toronja) soda (normally available in the mexican aisle of most grocery stores)

Spanish Tinto de Verano: If you can find the fizzy lemon the other gal recommends add inexpensive (but not heinous) red wine to it in equal parts.

Both: Easy and delicous.

This is my favorite (it has no name -- it's something I made up):

1 part Vodka (Kettle One, Stoli, Belvedere)
1 part Malibu Rum
2.5 parts Loza Tropical juice (or a mixture of orange, pineapple, guava and mango juices)
Fresh lime juice to taste
