What is a good romantic sweet wine under $15/bottle?!

Question:

What is a good romantic sweet wine under $15/bottle?

I don't know a whole lot about wines, but I'm looking for a good, romantic, sweet wine that will run under $15/bottle. I want something that's going to set the mood for a romantic evening. Serious answers only please! Thanks!

Riesling is your best bet as far as a sweet classy wine. It can be hard to find something that you may find "sweet" in a red depending on how developed your pallet is or the pallet of your date. :) A couple of my favorites are St. Michelle which is a bit on the orange side, and Jekel which I've found more peachy. You could also try a pinot gris or grigio where you are likely to find more pear hints in the wine. Some popular labels are Estansia (I think that one is a little more than you want to spend but a great bottle) Willamette also carries a nice one at around $17.00. Clois De Bois is a nice label too. I'm not sure which area you are in but if you are anywhere near Virginia there is a native winery that makes a sweet white called Governor's White. It's really very good and they sell it in grocery stores at least in the northern VA area. (When ever I'm in town I always buy a case I love it so much!) You should be able to find some decent bottles in your local wine store for under $15.00...it's when you buy it in the restaurant that you get ripped off! :) (Stay away from White Zinfandel and anything in a box if you are looking to impress.) Have a nice evening and enjoy your wine tasting. :)
