What is the real serving size of a moscato d'asti?!

Question:

What is the real serving size of a moscato d'asti?

I have gone back and forth with many restuarants and wine bars on the real serving size--i.e., should it be considered a dessert wine, and poured as such, or should it be a full (3-4 oz.) pour? Please cite your source if you have one. Thanks!

Answers:
ok, moscato is an aromatic semi-sparkling italian dessert wine. it has about half the carbonation of a sparkling wine with a little acidity. I love it. It should be served only in a champagne flute for good reason. The bubbles will last longer in a tall glass with a small opening. A normal portion of wine in a champagne flute will be about 4 to 5 ounces. Make sure you serve it ice cold. I love it with fruit usually citrus. Hope that helps

I work in a wine store

It should be poured 4 oz. at the most, but usually 3 oz. in a dessert wine glass. Good Stuff.

Depending on the occasion 4 to six ounces in a champagne flute or glass. Please don't use the short bowl like glass . A tall flute makes it happen and preserves the bubbles longer.
