Wine Suggestions?!

Question:

Wine Suggestions?

I’m looking to spend around $100 CAD on two bottles of wine, a red and a white. Could anyone recommend some excellent wines in the price range that I could purchase at the LCBO? The cost doesn’t matter, just as long as they add up to $100.

Just a note: The reason I'm asking instead of going to the LCBO or visiting the website is that I haven't had a lot of luck with those options in the past.

I know a lot about wines, I just haven't had that amazing white wine that I would buy for everyone.

Answers:

Try the following choices:

White:
Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc $41.95
Chateau Montelena Chardonnay $47.95
Conundrun $28.95
Jordan Chardonnay $43.15
Joseph Phelps Chardonnay $51.95
Joseph Phelps Sauvignon Blanc $35.95
Kistler chardonnay $79.95

Red:
IO $66.95
Miner Cabernet $71
Etude Pinot Noir $69
Duckhorn Merlot $74.95
Freemark Abbey Cabernet Bosche or Sycamore $74/75
Hartford Pinot $47.95
Jordan Cab $65
Joseph Phelps Le Mistral $58
Newton Merlot $58.95
Ridge Lytton Spring $48.95

My suggestion is to get a more expensive red and cheaper white; However, Kistler is such a great Chardonnay that you might want to get that, just for the quality and the rarity.

If I were to pick, I would highly consider the following combinations:
* Joseph Phelps Le Mistral + Joseph Phelps Sauvignon Blanc = $94
* Jordan Cabernet + Jordan Chardonnay = $108
* Ridge Lytton Spring + Chateau Montelena Chardonnay = $97
* Miner Cabernet + Conundrum = $100
