Answers:

Since you listed your question under beer, wine, etc. I assume you are interested in beer. I am not particularly fond of this drink, with one exception: Andechs dark beer: Andechs is a Benedictine convent on the Hammersee, 30 Km (about 20 miles) South of Munich, Germany.
The Benedectine Friars are probably the single institution which helped save Christian Western culture during the middle ages, when barbarians were invading Europe, the Roman Empire had been destroyed and people were terrified and without rulers. The Benedectines developed their rule "Orat and Laborat", which means pray and work. It was their phylosophy that God could be praised not only through prayer, but also through work. This all-important thought allowed them to develop a system to help many people who found shelter in their convents. Whole self-supporting economical systems were developed. Andechs is a living example of this historical economic system. If you happen to be in that neighbourhood, the complex is certainly worth visiting. You can enjoy a healthy meal of pork, cheese, saurkraut, bread etc., drink their fantastic beer (do not plan on driving afterwards, because it is very strong) and everything you consume is produced by the convent!! It employs about 2,500 people and still follow the rule of their Founder (Saint Benedict of Norcia). Of course you are asked to behave with decorum, because you are in a Christian institution. And the church and museum are very rich with historical and artisitc memorabilia. (and no, I am not German: still!)
