What is your fave red wine?!

Question:

What is your fave red wine?

Answers:
I love wines from Sicily, particularly a nice bottle of Nero d'Avola, a robust red wine that goes really well with stronger dishes.

cianti

Ruffino gold label

Banrock station - sparkling shiraz

chianti.

Pinot Noir, or maybe cabernet sauvingnon, a nice Merlot.........ohhhhhh, any at the mo. 'cos I've got none in the house and your Q. has put me in the mood for a glass! lol :)

Red wine is good! It is the blood our Lord!!! Quench thy thirst and go spread the word of God through the streets of your cities!

Opus 1 by Robert Mondavi

lambrusco

Shiraz

Merlot

Merlot or Chianti

Just went to a wine festival last Saturday and I bought a bottle of Cabernet Savignon... has a real nice apple finish.... mmmm. New Mexico has some decent wine!

The question should be what is YOUR fav red wine?

Try a Cabernet Sauvignon from Chateau St. Michelle winery in the Columbia River Valley of Washington State. Or, if you like something a little lighter, try Francis Coppola Pinot Noir.

Shiraz....of course!

Cabernet Sovignon...Mondavi

I like lambrusco, but Australian wines are meant to be nice.

Tignanello 2001 by Antinori

Difficult question!

The wine that left me with the best impression was a 1993 Chateau Cantenac-Brown (Margaux, i.e. a Bordeaux), tasted in 2005. Just beyond words...

IF you can find it J.P.Chenet syrah grenache cheap but open it,let it breathe for an hour( as with any red wine) and enjoy!!

If cost is not a concern:
Silver Oak 2002 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
This is an opulent wine of great depth and concentration. It displays a dark, garnet color and aromas of black plum, cassis liqueur, rose petals, nutmeg and sandalwood. The palate offers a mouth-coating texture and a wonderful progression of ?avors from berry fruit to tobacco to dark chocolate, culminating in an extraordinarily long ?nish reminiscent of a dark chocolate truffle ?lled with berry liqueur. Properly cellared, it should provide drinking pleasure until 2028. ($99.99)

Not as good...but a great value:
Hogue 2003 Genesis Cabernet SauvignonThis is a spicy wine at its core with anise, clove and coffee bean accenting its bright fresh cherry and raspberry fruit flavors. It is a rich, full-bodied, expressive wine that still shows some finesse with fine, almost powdery tannins and well-integrated oak. Tobacco and black pepper linger on the finish. Pair this wine with grilled tri-tip steak, aged cheeses or dark chocolate. ($13.99)

Pinot Noir and I love Riocha reserva and Barrollo
