How did the largest Champagne bottle get the name "Murgatroyd"?!

Question:

How did the largest Champagne bottle get the name "Murgatroyd"?

Answers:

Murgatroyd is a 50 liter bottle wine, regardless of whether it is champagne or wine. It is a real word rarely, because production of wine of that size is rare.

I looked through a lot of references but just can not find the origin of the word Murgatroyd. However, I would like to make a wild guess that it may be from a Middle Eastern or Biblical origin:

Jeroboam (3 Liters) derived from the name of the founder and first ruler of the divided kingdom of Israel

Rheoboam (4.5 Liter) is the son of Solomon

Methuselah (6 Liters) was the patriarch at the time of the Flood

Salmanazar (9 Liters) is the royal name of Babylon (Shalmaneser)

Balthazar (12 Lilters) derived from the name of one of the Three Wise Men

Nebuchadnezzar (15 Liters) is one of the ruler of Babylon

Melchior (18 liters) is another of the Three Wise Men

Melchizedek (30 Liters) has its origin from the Bible as well, as the King of Shalem and Prist of God Most High

There is some reference of Murgatroyd in the Bible, but how that become the name of 50 Liter bottle wine I am not sure.
