if a pub is closed for a private function, such as a wedding reception or party, does it still have to implement the smoking ban? I think it does, I'm a non smoker, my husband thinks not, he smokes

Answers:

Yes it does!!!
I run a large pub and hotel and phoned the Smoke Free Helpline before the ban started. I wanted to know if my staff could smoke in the bar when we had a drink after closing, when there were no customers around. I thought it would then become back to a private house. However it doesn't, you can not smoke in any public building FULL STOP!!
