Question:

Do you know a drink that's mixes beer and ginger ale ? (i think)?

I had this in the bahamas with a group of brits. Any idea what it is.. and how to make it.

Answers:
Yes, the shandy is a European concotion that is primarily drunk on hot days. In England, it is made with ginger ale, while the Germans prefer to make it with 7-Up or any other lemon-lime soda.

The first time I came across a shandy was at Disney's Epcot Center, where they have bars and restaurants for different countries surrounding a lake. I was kind of uncertain about it at first, after all, why waste a good beer with soda? However, it was hot out, and that was a very refreshing drink!

no

Nope sorry. Did it have anything else in it? If not just mix differnt amount of both till you find the right blend.

I hope you had some Red Stripe while you were down there.

I think what you're talking about is called a "shandy", and it's beer mixed with 7up or ginger-ale. I've never had it, but a gentleman at a party I had a long time ago made this, and those who tried, liked it. I think you just mix equal parts ginger-ale and beer, or mix to your liking.
Hope that helps!

I remember my dad making it and it is fantastic. mom was a british lady.

19th-century barkeeepers used to put out small containers of the ground spice for customers to sprinkle in their beer (supposedly the origin of ginger ale). The best ginger is a pale, buff-colored rhizome grown in Jamaica, and it was used in the time of Henry VIII to combat the plague.

12 oz chilled ale
4 oz ginger beer

Pour the ginger beer into a beer pilsner or beer mug. Carefully add the ale, or lager, and serve.

why do you want to mix that, that's alcohol abuse. you sick monkey.

<> Never heard of it before, but I might have to try it. My boss is a Yorkshire man, I'll ask him about it.
