Is it true the more expensive vodka won't get you drunk as cheap ones?!

Question:

Is it true the more expensive vodka won't get you drunk as cheap ones?

Example, I hear that Ketelone is better than Smirnoff and you can drink more without getting drunk

Answers:
Only if you drink less of it! Kidding. Your choice of vodkas will not determine how drunk you get.

You will get drunk either way with enough alcohol. There isn't one vodka that will get you more intoxicated than another, unless you find one with a higher alcohol content. Then, you will only feel the affects in fewer drinks. Because the more expensive vodkas go through a different filtration process, you don't feel the affects as greatly, but you are still just as intoxicated. What you ate that day and your stomach contents will affect how quickly you feel intoxicated as well.

What you WILL find to be true, is that one will leave you feeling less hungover the next day. Normally, the more expensive vodkas go through more filtration processes. This simply means that more impurities are removed before the bottling process, which means less of the impurities in your system after a night of drinking. Your hangover will also be affected by what you are mixing the vodka with. For instance, sodas or sweet fruit juices have a higher sugar content than toniq, which usually results in a worse hangover.

I ran and owned bars for 11-years, and was the food and beverage manager at a major golf course for two years...

you get just as drunk if not drunker and it taste better when you get the expensive ones

The standard proof for vodka is 80 proof, From Mr Boston to Grey Goose,

Rubbish, they will all get you nice and scuttered at pretty much the same rate.

How you feel in the morning is a different story however. Cheaper spirits tend not to be distilled as many times and therefore contain more of those nasty chemicals that give you that elephant-just-crapped-inside-m... feeling.

Doesn't matter what the name is it's the alcohol by volume.

I have gotten the same drunk from smirinoff, Nikolai (a very cheap vodka) and Three Olives, Stolichanya both are equvalient to Kettle one. Do not believe all of these myths about cheap or expesive make you a different drunk. It is the alcohol in it that makes you drunk and no matter the quality in taste and smoothness the alcohol is still the same.

They all taste the same after a few drinks.
