From Homebrew to Brewmaster?!
From Homebrew to Brewmaster?
i am currently an avid homebrewer. growing up in the northwest, i've been exposed to lots of great craft beer and have become quite good at making my own tasty brews.
some day, i would like to either become a brewmaster or open my own microbrewery.
i was hoping somebody on here is currently in the brewing industry that can give me some pointers as to how i can best make this transition. i know production brewing has a whole new set of skills, and i just don't know how to learn those without just learning by trial and error..

It's a very competitive market for very little pay to get started. So many people want to brewers. Your best bet is to hound local breweries for some small job in the brewery and try to work your way in to helping with brew sessions and learn as much as possible about the process on a larger scale. Also, complete the American Brewers Guild, and many won't even consider you unless you have this certification these days...
