Whenever I drink German beer like Warsteiner or Spaten or Becks, I sleep extremely well. Has anyone else experienced it as well. Is it the hops or water or something?

yes. Indeed the alcohol has some affect on our sleepiness. But hops are a natural sedative. In days past they made hops pillows to lay your head upon. It has a very relaxing and sedative qualities. This is true in beer as well.
