You dont make it. You buy it.

KAHLUA

3 C. Sugar
4 C. Water
10 tsp. Instant Coffee
4 tsp. Vanilla
2 - 3 C. Vodka

Mix first 3 ingredients in large pan and simmer for 1 hour. Remove from heat and cool for 1 hour. Add the vanilla and vodka, mix well and pour into dark colored bottles. Store in cool dark place for 2 weeks for best results. I have used it right away also.

Best just to buy it, Tesco have it 11.99

Heat water, sugar, and honey until melted.
Add coffee crystals and simmer 30 minutes.
Cool to 110 degrees and add vanilla.
Let set for at least 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
Add alcohol and stir well.
***Do Not Bring To A Boil***

Homemade Kahlua

6 cups sugar
6 cups water
20 tsp instant coffee
1/2 gallon vodka (100 proof)
12 tsp pure vanilla

Mix sugar, water, coffee together and bring to slow boil. Turn heat down and simmer 1 hour. Remove heat, cover liquid with plastic wrap. Let sit for 12 hours, then remove wrap (it will pick up film from the top). Add vodka and vanilla, stir well. Bottle in dark bottles.

Notes:, Yield 3 quarts. Drinkable immediately. We usually make a half-batch because it's so darn big.

be careful when brewing homemade alcohal it can be dangerous and illegal

Mostly to the person above me:

It's not illegal to make Kahlua. It is illegal to make alcohol.

All of the recipes people have submitted have included a handle of vodka as an ingredient. The vodka, the only alcoholic ingredient, was made by a company. The OP is not making liquor; he or she is adding sugar, vanilla, etc to an existing alcohol.

(just felt like clearing that up; I didn't want the OP to think what he/she is attempting to do is illegal.)
