I would like to spike an entire watermelon.?!

Question:

I would like to spike an entire watermelon.?

I was told to cut a hole at the stem and stick a fifth of vodka and in a day the vodka would absorb into the watermelon through osmosis. Can anyone verify this recipe?

Answers:
Yes sir you can, take the cap off the chosen bottle of spirits and use it as a guide for the hole you cut at the STEM, screw in the bottle, stand the watermelon on its end in a cooler and surround with ice, let the melon get drunk (let it absorb all it will, may only take 1 bottle or maybe more) once it will absorb no more, cover the hole with plastic wrap and cover entire melon with ice, let stand till cold, slice and enjoy, clear spirits work best, i.e. Gin, Vodka, Clear Rum aka White Rum, I assisted a bartender with this task a couple years ago at a ritzy resort on their 4th of July party, we sold it by the slice, it was a huge success, everyone loved it, but as others have stated, it will sneak up on you and grab you unexpected so beware! Have fun and enjoy the summer and festivities

that is true we use that a lot with parties. you can also use different liquor we have used tequila, rum, we even used Bacardi 151

Clear Liquors work the best. I've tried Vodka, but did not like the taste. However "Everclear" turned out very good!

Cristobal,

As they say, "I've been there, done that". But watch out - that easy-tasting melon will sneak right up on you and smack your head with a 6x6! Also we put vodka in oranges and took them to baseball games - on ice. About the 2nd inning and it's 'look out below'. Again, be careful - that stuff travels undercover and can really hurt you. Wouldn't want to see anyone get hurt or in trouble using these 'recipes'.

You answered your own question, yes that is correct. Cover the hole up with plastic wrap and put in the frig. Enjoy,

Rum tastes much better.

I can answer this question with one word so listen up cuz u might not hear me, YES!
