How do you get alcohol into the US from another country when you're under 21?!

Question:

How do you get alcohol into the US from another country when you're under 21?

I bought my parents a nice bottle of wine in France and I'd like to bring it back to the US with me. The problem is I won't be 21 for another couple of months and thus will be taking a risk getting it through customs, and I have heard that shipping wine is a hassle, particularly since I already bought it and I cannot go back to the store I bought it at to see if they will ship it. Any advice?

Answers:

First off, you do not have to worry about anything, customs is far too concerned with other incidents to worry about an underage bringing in a bottle of wine. Just make sure you do wrap it up in clothes (maybe jeans or something dark in case of breakage) to protect it.

You do not have to claim the alcohol either - especially if it is just one bottle - it is over 3 bottles I think that you have to claim.

I went to boarding school in europe and used to visit europe every break, and I did it and never was flagged or anything - and I would be bringing in speciality hard liqour from the areas. My sisters are also underage and they always bring back speciality liqours form the area for the family for chrismas gifts and never have any problems.

Don't worry - and cheers!
