Anyone else ever tried this beer???
Its called 'Modelo Especial', its Mexican and its well nice. Got it in Sainsburys, tasty stuff. Any opinions out there??

Negra Modelo is one of my favorites. Haven't had their Especial brew, though. Here's some trivia: Negra Modelo and Dos Equis are versions of Vienna style beer. This style was extremely popular in Europe in the 19th century. Then Pilzners and German style lagers became the rage, and business dried up for Vienna style beers. This may have prompted Austrian brewmasters to emigrate to Latin America.

Yes, I believe it is actually Negro Modelo Especial. It is a Mexican beer that is quite tasty. I had a friend from Birmingham that loved Boddingtons, and he said here in the states that was a great substitute. Dos Equis XX is good as well, but not as dark.
there a two different modelos Modelo Especial is a very good drink they also make Negro Modelo the fist one is an ale while the second is more of an lager. There are a few other Mexican beers that are very goo Bohemia is a heavier beer that is a lot like shiner. Dos Equis is also very good. On of the strongest beers they make is called Sol. give this one a try if you can find it. also try Carta Blanca
