There are general rules on this...but I say drink what you enjoy! You don't have to stick with the red wine for red meat, white wine for fish and chicken. Try to pair your wine with how savory or flavorful your meal is. There are plenty of medium bodied whites (Viognier, Sauvignaun Blanc, Poulee Fuisse) that would go nicely with red meats. And lighter reds (Chianti, Syrah, Shiraz, Beaujolais) that would pair well with seafood and chicken. It all depends on how the meat is prepared. So I say you should drink what you enjoy regardless of the meal that you are eating!
