Legal drinking age in Ireland?!

Question:

Legal drinking age in Ireland?

What is the legal drinking age in ireland and does that age also apply to foriegners?

Answers:
18

18 and yes as long as you can prove you are 18

18years, and yes it applies to foriegners, s'long as you can prove your age, so have your passport handy

In Northern Ireland (18) In Southern Ireland (18) You will be asked for I.D. if you do not look 21 years old. Try the Guinness, it is a lovely drink, but watch their Irish Whiskey, it will blow you away.

This is what I found:

To give full info on UK drinking ages:
Below 5: alcohol on medical orders only;
At 5 you may be given alcohol by parent or guardian at home, or elsewhere not on licenced premises;
Under 16s may consume alcohol in a restaurant with a meal when the alcohol is purchased by a parent or guardian, and at the discretion of the management;
16-17 may purchase beer, porter, cider, or perry with a meal in an eating area on licensed premises - in Scotland wine is permitted as well;
18: full drinking rights (and responsibilities, but they don't usually think of them...)
